Jesup Mat Club - REGISTRATION

NEW THIS SEASON*******

Beginning this season, JMC will NO longer accept NEW wrestlers from outside the Jesup CSD.

As a reminder, Jesup Mat Club is a PreK–6th Grade program.

For non-Jesup CSD middle school athletes, we encourage families to connect with their prospective school or wrestling program to discuss in-season training opportunities and accommodations.

Jesup Middle School and High School wrestlers have UNLIMITED access to JMC throughout the year NO COST. *AAU membership required 7th-8th Graders

🤝 PARTNERSHIP CIRCUMSTANCES

Partnership situations will be reviewed and approved by the JMC coaching staff. This is intended for wrestlers who may not have an appropriate training partner within their school/program.

Our goal is to continue developing Jesup wrestlers while maintaining clear boundaries around our program structure and school partnerships.

BEGINNERS (Start Date Nov 9th) - This program is designed to introduce the sport of wrestling to kids through fun and exciting games. It is open to our PreK-K kids, the whole idea here is to get your kid excited about wanting to wrestle. We will work on developing listening skills, movement patterns, social skills, and getting your athlete comfortable with a wrestling environment. This group will practice once a week, Kindergartners that are considering Super Pee Wee State will move to the Intermediate group once the program ends.

INTERMEDIATE - This is for 1st-3rd, this group is designed for wresters ready to take the next step in their development. Focus will be to build on foundational skills, technique, positioning, and match awareness. Wrestlers will be challenged in a competitive enviorment that promotes discipline, confidence, and growth. This group is ideal for wrestlers with 1-2 years experience.

ADVANCED - Our Advanced group is for 3rd-6th grade. This group is to help the kids prepare for varying levels of competition throughout the year. We blend our schedule with local and national competition. Wrestlers will be challenged in a competitive environment that promotes discipline, confidence, and growth. This group is ideal for those experienced and committed to competing at a high level.

AAU MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT

This is required to compete in AAU sanctioned events. MOST local tournaments are not AAU sanctioned this will specifically apply to post season competition such as districts, pee-wee state, and AAU state.

If you have not already signed up with AAU, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Obtain current AAU Membership
- IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT AAU MEMBERSHIP: CLICK HERE to go to AAU Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with AAU. Each player must have their own unique AAU Membership ID.
